Happy Birthday D!

 I cannot believe that I missed this bestie birthday. I love you Queso and I cannot wait to see you and love you and hug you. Let's start thinking about the 2013 Christmas Card Photoshoot. 

Looking for Earl

Aunt Sandy sent us off on a Devereaux family name history expedition. According to the National Portrait Gallery, Robert Devereux, 2nd of Earl of Essex (1565-1601) was "Elizabeth I's last favourite, 'a nature not to be ruled,' Essex organized royal entertainments in his capacity as Master of the Horse. Confirmed as a popular hero when he took Cadiz in 1596, he lost his place at court as a result of his activities in Ireland in 1599. He tried to raise a rebellion against the queen's ministers in 1601, which failed, and he was executed' in the Tower of London.

Well, Brian and I set out for the Tower of London one Sunday. We took our sweet time, a very long walk, a very long pub lunch and lots of pictures in front of Tower Bridge (Brian was looking especially photogenic) and we arrived at the Tower just at closing time. No problem, Brian posed for more pictures in front of Devereaux Tower and we made plans to try again another day.

The Wedding

 This wedding was beyond beautiful - the sky and the ocean were perfect, the bride was gorgeous and the groom was handsome. They were both completely happy and so in love. Congratulations Bre & Tim! I am so happy to have you as family.

Brian went for a beautiful morning run on our first day and he met a few cool people along the way.

Andre, the lifeguard, brought me a sea urchin. 

They don't have eyes or ears and you should never sit on them.

There are few things as nice as leaving a cold, grey city and arriving in paradise. What is better? Arriving in paradise to see your family and to celebrate your favorite people getting married.
