Kids in the Backyard
We have a wonderful backyard. My mom made it that way. She followed my grandma and kept planting flowers and vegetables and trees. It is a pretty perfect place to spend time - and it always has been. We spent this lazy day sitting at the big table under the gazebo tent chatting and watching an ant move a huge crumb across the patio. Michelle played with Emma and then bubbles.

Summer in the City
We went to a casting off Randolph |
I waited by this wall |
Roo met me there after the casting |
We went for pretzel and a Kombucha while we waited for D to get out of work |
Then we went for the best nachos in Chicago |
Our server looked like Buster |

Summer in the Suburbs
A very good Sunday in Oak Lawn with all the best people at the Rammer Jammer for lunch and watching of the World Cup. We followed that up with an extremely fun concert in the park - a cover band that seemed to play all of our favorite songs - we danced our faces off, ate hot dogs, drank wine and spied on the Tim Riggins sound guy. Too good.

A Farm Market Trip with Roo
Michelle jumped on Grandma's bike and took me to the Farmer's Market. Along the way we saw a sign for a concert we wanted to go to... |
The Oak Lawn Farmer's Market is in the library parking lot. |
Roo reminds me that mamma always says you gotta check the size of the kernels. No honkers, please. |
Next Stop - Oak Lawn Lake - it is full of muskrats |
We crossed the bridge |
Roo explained that THIS is the first place she held hands with Mike! Amazing. |
Time to refresh. A grapefruit beer for Roo at our Rammer Jammer |
Rammer Jammer / Deja Brew |
We head home with our Market finds... |
...just in time to make dinner for Mom in the Gazebo. Delightful. |
