Summer Dina

Dina! The love of my life! Dina, thank you for coming to visit us in London. We did everything that we had set out to do. Wine at Somerset House, holding hands and long walks, a margarita and an Aperol Spritz at Quo Vadis in Soho, a delicious duck roll lunch on the stoop, a Bling Ring night at the cinema. Dina, you are the source mountain of fun all of the time, but especially in London in the summertime.

Proper Breakfast and Notting Hill

Dina needed a fried egg and a banger with beans before she left. We went to a pub a few doors down, THE WHITE SWAN. A delightful gentleman brought us our breakfast. We shamefully hid our Starbucks under the table and ordered the breakfast tea. It was delicious. We listened to a group of American tourists discuss craft beer, though they couldn't seem to remember any of the names of the beers or bars that they loved. Poor kids. We left them and headed to Notting Hill. I found a copy of Cannery Row / Tortilla Flat at the bookseller's stand, but I couldn't pay £45. I needed to read it to prepare for family "book club" on the upcoming Monterey trip so I ended up buying a new copy of Cannery Row at the Notting Hill Bookshop (not the one from the movie...the actual Travel Bookshop that Hugh owned and Julia visited in Notting Hill closed down)

Neal's Yard

Neal's Yard is a very colorful alley filled with New Age / health food shops. It is the place to get a green juice. This one was super healthy...cucumber, celery, parsley, kale, spinach, broccoli, lemon & ginger juice from Neal's Yard Wild Juicery

We opted to forgo the health food lunch options and went straight for Homeslice the place serving huge pizza pies and prosecco on tap. 1/2 Margarita & 1/2 Mushroom with Ricotta.
