London Fashion Week

Why did I love London Fashion Week? Well, fashion week is cool - all the cool people love fashion week. Also, the largest venues - Somerset House and Freemasons' Hall are just a few blocks away from our flat. The best part, however, is that my little Michelle was in London Fashion Week. I spent way too much time searching hashtags on instagram for Roo - it is way too good to see her behind the scenes getting ready for the catwalk. Also amazing - waiting for her to come running into the flat with the most insane hair and makeup and stories. All that is great, but then I finally got the courage to try to get into one of the shows - her last show of the week. SUCCESS! It was actually pretty easy. Wait, the best part of London Fashion Week is that my little sister's photo is in the New York Times.

Pam Rules

Pam and Peter came to London for a family wedding and thankfully, they had some time to see us. We decided to go the very traditional route and took them to dinner at Rules Restaurant. Now, Rules happens to be just two blocks from our flat AND it is the oldest restaurant in London (c. 1798). We had been looking for an important reason to try the place and this was the perfect time.

Peter had the fish & chips, Brian had short ribs, Pam had duck and I had a steak and kidney pie. We split the stickey toffee pudding and Margaret Thatcher stared at us THE ENTIRE TIME.

London Fashion Week casting calls have Roo running all over town and tube. It is crucial to stop and take some time for coffees (in Kentish Town) beer gardens (in Acton Town) and bento (in Mayfair).
