Buxton in Derbyshire

This was a very, very good day. Michelle and I took a trip to Buxton, a spa town in Derbyshire. Buxton it is known as the home of a geothermal spring and as the gateway to Peak District National Park. The small market town is very sweet. It has shops, a beautiful park and cultural center with a conservatory and opera house. Roo,  however, was in this for a classic countryside walk, so we bought a small walking guide and set out. We decided to take two short hikes that ended at high elevation points with iconic points of interest. We followed the walking directions closely, but our first attempt was completely wrong. We ended up in a very nice, but very unexpected golf course. All of the golfer's were very nice. They tried to help the lady hikers, but none of them seemed to know the trail that we were looking for. Ah well, we didn't need them. We found our way eventually.
