CALIFORNIA: Beauty Overload = My Sister and the 17 Mile Drive

The 17 Mile Drive may be a primordial microcosm of nature and stunning beauty, but my sister is pretty gorgeous too. The combo was almost too much. We drove and we stopped. We drove and we stopped. This is what you do on the 17 Mile Drive - a coastal scenic route through Pebble Beach and Monterey. We didn't even have to pay the admission fee because the house we rented was actually off of the 17 Mile Drive. Every spot was gorgeous and very stop-worthy, but highlights included Point Joe (JOE was able to POINT to the sign) and of course, The Lone Cyprus. That lonely Monterey Cyprus sitting on the precipice (majestic, but also a registered trademark of the Pebble Beach Co.) and has stood there since its little seedling took root in 1813. So, add this last photo of mine to the tally of the most photographed tree in North America.
